About Us

The International Association of Information Technology Asset Managers, Inc. (IAITAM) is the premier professional association catering to both individuals and organizations engaged in various facets of IT Asset Management (ITAM), Software Asset Management (SAM), Hardware Asset Management, and the entire lifecycle processes that underpin IT Asset Management practices within entities of all sizes and industries worldwide.

IAITAM officially came into existence in 2002, marking the culmination of years of in-depth research and strategic planning. However, the roots of IAITAM can be traced back to 1998 when a collective of software and hardware asset managers initiated discussions regarding the necessity for a centralized organization with a specific focus on expanding and standardizing knowledge and information in the realms of IT Hardware and Software Asset Management.

Since its inception, IAITAM has been a pioneering force in unifying and advancing the field of IT Asset Management. It provides a vital platform for individuals and organizations to gain valuable insights, knowledge, and expertise, as well as to establish best practices in managing IT assets effectively. This collaborative and inclusive approach has been instrumental in enhancing the standards and practices within the ITAM industry, transcending geographical and sectoral boundaries.
