One of the coolest hidden mechanics in Diablo 4 comes from a unique Necromancer item: the Hand of Naz. When you equip it, your Skeletal Mages get a chance to evolve into something way more powerful—the Skeletal Arch-Mage.
But what makes these upgraded minions so special?
First, they teleport away when attacked. That means they almost never die, especially in larger fights. As long as they get their 25 attacks in, they’ll keep upgrading and sticking around.
Second, they deal 50-100% more damage with a chance to hit in AOE. That’s massive, especially in tight dungeons or when swarmed.
Third, they look awesome. Okay, maybe that’s not a stat—but it’s still a bonus. You’ll instantly know which Mages have leveled up, and they become your elite squad of magical executioners.
This mechanic rewards good minion management and positioning. Keep your Mages alive, and they’ll become nearly unstoppable. In group play, Arch-Mages are fantastic crowd-control tools, and in solo play, they’re your frontline, backline, and artillery all in one.
So if you’re running Necromancer and haven’t tried a full Arch-Mage build yet—now’s the time. Get the Hand of Naz, let your Mages evolve, and prepare to melt everything in your path. You can learn more now from u4gm.
