The savings come from a combination of optimized utilization, extended lifespan, accurate inventory management, better procurement practices, standardization, warranty and support management, efficiency, and effective disposal and recycling.
I am not sure on this one as we will be starting a Project for HW Optimization. The Company does have a department called GARS that makes the decision if an asset can be re-used for another account or be disposed of. The Re-Use of HW for other accounts is cost saving on it’s own and if an asset has a 0 NBV Value – we recommend for disposal as HW Maintenace then becomes Time and Material which is very pricy and at most times the parts can’t be sourced, and then give them an option to get a machine that is still in good condition that is stored with GARS.
Savings during tech refresh buys of IT Hardware with vendors providing discounts on bulk buys. Savings on identifying and reducing inventories of obsolete IT Assets.
Initially look to start at a 5-10% savings by doing the above.
