Do a deep dive on it reviewing it from the perspective of your current organization. Could the template help kick start thinking in this space for you? #62802Brian HeltzelParticipant
The quarterly recycling report is helpful to share with other regions that, for whatever reason, may not be able to comply with the standard recycling vendor(s). It is essential that a standard recycling report is provided so proper documentation can be maintained and existing asset records can be updated with a “disposed” status.
Brian HeltzelParticipantI assume this question means to reference Disposal not Project. As nearly every KPA is either supported by or enabled by the other KPAs, it is difficult to pick one. An argument could be made to elevate the role of vendor management; in most cases, companies rely on vendors for both the documentation (disposal records) and compliance (certified disposal process vs landfill). They nearly enable disposal management by their specialized equipment and resources.

August 13, 2024 at 3:29 pm in reply to: What would some of the challenges be implementing or improving a formal best practice Disposal KPA in your organization? #62797Brian HeltzelParticipantUS-based employees, including those in the legal department, are likely not experts in disposal laws in European, LATAM, and AP markets. Relationships need to be developed with stakeholders in these other regions.
August 13, 2024 at 3:27 pm in reply to: Evaluate the different relationships between the KPA’s from a Disposal standpoint. Which KPA’s have the most important dependencies? #62796Brian HeltzelParticipantSome of the top KPAs include:
Documentation – Keeping good records of your assets acquired (so you know they are due to be disposed) as well as post-disposal records showing your liability release are very important.
Compliance – Disposal processes must be in compliance with local laws which can vary at a region or even country level
Asset ID – Proper asset IDs make tracking the asset lifecycle, even through the disposal process, easier.Brian HeltzelParticipantAs commerce continues to mature, some vendor processes support tight integrations with enterprise ERPs or inventory solutions. This could add a support relationship to the Financial KPA where the Finance manager could be notified of low stock with an automatic quote to approve for PO.

In the event of non-compliance activities, HR is an important function as an enforcement authority.

Tools can help give visibility to physical asset additions and reductions. However, it takes a close relationship with local IT and Legal offices in those areas to ensure we know we are complying with local laws related to asset disposal, vendor restrictions on locally purchased software, and even the changing landscape of PC storage encryption methods.
August 13, 2024 at 8:57 am in reply to: Evaluate the different relationships between the KPA’s from a Compliance and Legislation standpoint. Which KPA’s have the most important dependencies? #62779Brian HeltzelParticipantDocumentation is a fundamental KPA for compliance; it’s a means of demonstrating past and present compliance with laws/regulations/restrictions.
The Asset ID KPA is also important; without it the documentation will be incomplete. The asset ID is the means to track the asset, ensuring it is in the right region, traceable when conducting an internal audit, etc. -
