ParticipantTraining – The organization will have individuals who feel they are part of the “bigger picture”, they will understand the risks the organization takes in daily operations, these individuals will realize the cost of the equipment provided and the level of productivity they achieve due to the ITAM program processes. The employees will react in a more positive manner to the ITAM programs they are presented with during the lifecycle of the IT assets.
Policy – Having clear and concise policies and responsibilities of all employees will reduce the number of out of compliance assets due to misunderstandings.

April 29, 2025 at 6:43 pm in reply to: What would some of the challenges be implementing or improving a formal best practice Documentation KPA in your organization? #71447Teresa Raschke
ParticipantTaking the time to review all of the policies and processes within an organization is a starting point. Understanding each is also important, determine how they relate to each other and do they meet the needs/goals of the organization are imperative. To create the best practice you must have buy in from all of the stakeholders and support from the top of the organization. Improving your formal documentation is a continuous process; set the timeline for review and make sure you have representation for all groups within the organization. It can be done if you plan and take action.

April 21, 2025 at 4:10 pm in reply to: What is one of the most difficult things to communicate about ITAM within your organization? How could this be improved? #71254Teresa Raschke
ParticipantThe importance of forecasting the requirements of the organization to align with budgets and procurement policies. Educating all groups within the organization about ITAM is a start. Try to create relationships across departments/groups and share what ITAM does for them and the organization – this can be difficult as not many leaders understand what ITAM is and feel it not important.
