Process to request for new software
1. Requirements gathering and analyzing need creates a lot of back and forth emails, which wastes time.
a. Schedule a call to discuss.
2. Several Forms have been created to collect data; however, the answers tend to vague or too technical for the audience.
a. Consolidate forms down to one or two. Eliminate redundant questions. Confirm answers during call in step 1 to ensure clarity.Disposition process involves at least ten different departments to complete tasks, for dispositions of servers and services only. Then other departments are involved in dispositions of telephony, data communications, medical technical devices, building technical devices, network printers etc. We need to sit together and look at structure, content, and automation.
All new hire assets are only available based on role or job title. They do not appear on IT Hardware request form.
All new hire assets are predefined by job title or role. Things that are not available do not show up on onboarding form.
We are already working to streamline, simplify and make more efficient our ticketing process for stakeholders who need equipment. The new process will be driven by dropdown windows which will prompt them to answer all the questions we normally have to follow up with them for.
There are many processes in my organization that could be simplified, since I work for the government.
