We are consistent with tagging of our new assets after acquisition. The delivery docket is usually sent to the Finance team for payment of Invoice. After tagging the asset information is sent to Finance for depreciation calculation

Asset Tags are used in our owned data centres. Many assets are on customer sites, so are not required to be tagged. Model and Serial numbers are used to identify assets.
