ITAM processes have become very automated. There is also a heavy number of employees working remotely which makes it even more important to have an organized ITAM process in place to track/monitor all IT equipment.

Unified Platforms: Many organizations are integrating ITAM with ITSM tools to provide a comprehensive view of assets and services. This integration helps in tracking asset lifecycle, managing incidents, and improving service delivery.
ITIL Alignment: Aligning ITAM practices with ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) frameworks helps ensure that asset management supports broader IT service management goals.Flattening of the “org chart.” Fewer steps between workers and upper management. Also, smaller teams.
At my workplace the main trends currently are full automation and AI development but also the trend for remote working and data driven decision making on all levels.
Remote workers and leadership, implementation of AI, and leveraging technology solutions for better efficiency in the workplace.
Increase in off-site/remote asset management, automation between internal and external processes. All recent changes seem to be geared towards removing the human aspect of management to reduce down time/errors and an overall preference towards automation to gain speed and accuracy.
