I have noticed that with the integration of automation, the process has required less human intervention meaning that team sizes have become a bit smaller, and the scope of responsibilities for a single employee have become a bit more broad as now have the time to be more involved with other processes.
There is a convergence in ITAM with FinOps and CloudOps, Automation, and now, more than ever, managing AI as an asset. The need for ITAM to evolve further, whereby it is integrated into these modern issues, is becoming paramount.
That automation and adding more complexity to systems is the solution to all problems. Little interest in reinforcing core processes with allocating dedicated workforce to existing tasks/processes/technologies. Heavily focused on complexity ridden methodologies based on “automation” or ‘AI” technologies to try to find shortcuts wherever possible.
With the rise of AI, I am seeing more and more IT and procurement processes becoming automated. I’m also seeing more change management processes being adopted.
