I have been working remote since 1991 before there was an internet. Initially the shocker was the isolation – professional and social. I had to proactively devise new ways to stay connected to my organization and my customers. Over time more and more technology workers began working remotely and communications apps like skype helped us to stay connected. With COVID, customer organizations also started working remotely, eliminating the need for me to travel to conduct current state discovery and requirements workshops while also allowing for more flexible scheduling. Now, I am seeing the incorporation of AI tools such as copilot, virtual agents, NLP, and Agent Assist technologies to eliminate the need for note taking and reposting while improving efficiencies. Next, we are about to see the orchestration of AI agents for ITAM functions such as invoice reconciliation, disposal regulations verification, license compliance and so much more.
