I will continue taking other IAITAM certification courses. I’d like to attend some of the events, but I don’t believe my company will agree to pay for travel.
Likely escalation through the chain of command to start. If serious or a major compliance issue, perhaps something a little more severe.
Hardware accessories ordering process: Can be simplified by use of our vendor’s portal to have standards for device types (keyboards, mice, ergonomic products, etc.) that can be quickly reordered or even kept in stock.
There are many siloes, even in IT. Emails are often missed, and our company intranet news is sometimes bypassed. It would be better to have meetings, or better yet, a required quick learning course to reach individuals. Follow up with articles on our company intranet and emails.
Required education and training for leaders and above on the acquisition process and role of IT Asset Management team.
I likely would not have to negotiate directly with the executive team, that would be my leader, the manager and director.

One aspect of my organization’s “Is” and “Should” map (e.g., current state and future state):
Is: We are not doing the best job of documentation management, specific to the financials in our asset management system. Specifically, we receive quotes from a particular vendor with one line item (per the IT resources) and it isn’t broken down into software, hardware, and services.
Should: We should request, and enforce itemized quotes for better tracking, and set best practices for documentation management and data entry that are enforced and periodically audited to ensure accuracy.
