Chaos: not being able to locate assets when needed, over purchase of license, being out of compliance, incorrect disposal of equipment.
Organization wide updates get posted to the company’s intranet message board. Department wide messages are posted to the department teams chats.
Have no insight into the actuals now, but is map is the current process, and should map is the ITAM process fully adhered to.
Strength: Experience learning to communicate effectively from training people
Weakness: Not yet having completed all necessary ITAM courses
Opportunity: an asset manager position coming available
Threat: not finishing or passing the courses/another individual with more experience and course completion getting the opportunity instead.Strengths:
Strong asset tagging system in place along with upgraded asset inventory databases
Departmental processes already in place from Procurement to disposal
Weakness: No communication between the licensing capturing and the asset inventory databases
Opportunities: To join the two databases into one with the update
Threats: all handled by Security departments, both electronic and physical.I checked in with all parties involved until I discovered where the miscommunication occurred. Then I clarified the correct information with all parties.
