I believe communication is most important if you cannot communicate with other areas then you cannot get anything done without the organizations buy in of the importance of IT Asset Management. Education is important but at times you can learn on the job.
If not followed and we are audited, there will be discrepancies noted that will be raised to higher leadership above the organization and put a spotlight on these, requiring them to corrected.
A process that comes to mind is ensuring that our acquisition team has current points of contact for delivery of IT Hardware assets within their statement of work so that vendors provide invoices upon delivery.
Office culture can affect how you communicate in that if the culture is one that is toxic, non-communicative, work in silos, this will have a negative effect in trying to collaborate and work across the various functional areas to get things done.

Negotiation skills would be to use ITAM guidance for support but also communicate that this is a team effort and show the benefits.
As a Logistics Supervisor provide direction, guidance and oversight over the ITAM program ensuring that team members are organized, trained and equipped (OT&E) in order to fulfill their roles and responsibilities.
