I am an IT Analyst looking to progress my career into the area of IT Asset Management. Currently, I see a trend in companies allowing users to utilize virtual machines. I believe there should be a dedicated topic included for handling virtual machines.

Question: Are there any specific guidelines or best practices in IT Asset Management for managing virtual machines that I can refer to?
