I would stick with those. I’ve worked in corporate long enough to know that no matter how good of a program you run if you don’t have policies to enforce the necessary controls then things will go sideways. Similarly that if you aren’t communicating and educating your end users they won’t run things properly.

I use social media like Linkedin, Reddit and tiktok for people in the industry. I’m looking to join in person groups as well.

I think we have a lot of processes that are defined already but I don’t know how well they are implemented.

1. Procurement = moderate
2. Asset ID = low
3. Comms and EDU = low
4. Compliance = moderate to high
5. Legislation = moderate to high
6. Disposal = unknown
7. Finance = moderate to high
8. Policy = low to moderate
9. Project = low to moderate
10. Vendor = low to moderate

I am going to be building the entire ITAM program for my organization which will in turn impact our client and I’ll have the opportunity to possibly provide experience to them as well.

I have a solid foundational understanding of finances and how things important the connect with contracts and finance is. For my specific company I report directly to the AVP of Finance so I’m looped in and understand how it’s all connected.
