Support your team. Empower their decisions. Train them to trust their judgement and make the right decisions. Communicate clearly. Understand their needs and individual personalities and treat them with equity.
They help move the conversation between the necessary teams to determine the viability, necessity, and compliance of new hardware/standard requests.
We have been reducing waste in our environment by enhancing our refresh plans and schedules, which reduces the amount of labor and the amount of hardware being utilized. We’ve also worked on packaging reduction and are constantly improving our JIT inventory levels.
I’m hoping that ITAM will give me the knowledge to properly reach a JIT approach to reduce on hand inventory and overordering and help me with streamlining our asset recovery efforts, especially with our WFH co-workers, to reduce the amount of lost or stolen hardware in those areas. Both of these will result in significant savings to our organization.
