ParticipantThere was a time when someone shared a vendor proposal with me, but didn’t mention that the license was for 6 months instead of 12. I sent it for approval thinking it was annual, and it went through all the steps. When it finally got to the licensing team, we realized the mistake. I followed up with the vendor to clarify, and since then, I always double-check license terms before submitting anything.

ParticipantI’d add a step called “Reflect”. After the conversation, take a moment to think about how it went, and what could be improved for next time.

ParticipantMy best leadership advice is to lead by example, stay consistent, and listen.

ParticipantBody language. It’s subtle but important. Things like facial expressions, posture, eye contact, and gestures can say a lot, even if you’re not speaking. It can show confidence, interest, or even disagreement without saying a word.

ParticipantThe Acquisition Manager acts as a gatekeeper by making sure everything goes through the right process, like checking if something’s really needed, not already in stock, and making sure purchases are approved and aligned with what the organization actually uses.

April 11, 2025 at 5:29 am in reply to: Do you or will you have personnel lined up to support the management roles? #70928Antonio Navas
ParticipantYes, the plan is to have the right people in place — or at least aligned — for each key area, like procurement, finance, compliance, and technical support, so that the ITAM program can actually run smoothly and not fall on one person doing everything.
April 11, 2025 at 5:26 am in reply to: How can your organization help the environment when it comes to IT assets? #70927Antonio Navas
ParticipantThe organisation can help the environment by extending the life of devices where it makes sense, reusing and redeploying assets instead of always buying new, and making sure disposals are done properly. Also, being smarter with purchasing helps reduce e-waste from the start.
