June 5, 2024 at 9:14 am in reply to: If your organization took the ITAM360 Assessment, what rating do you expect it would get for each KPA? #60226Brian MingerParticipantVery low ratings since we do not have a centralized program. There is no Program aligned with IBPL in my current organization and little desire to work toward a full ITAM Program with ITAM-minded, trained, and aligned resources. They are looking to turn the ITSM team into the ITSM/ITAM team with limited support.
June 5, 2024 at 9:11 am in reply to: Being an IAITAM member demonstrates a commitment to growing the ITAM profession. In what ways will you personally contribute to the industry? #60225Brian MingerParticipantContinue to bring into the organizations that I work the overall spirit and support of the ITAM IBPL and work to align with these industry standards.
June 5, 2024 at 9:10 am in reply to: How do your standards align with IAITAM’s high standards for the profession? #60224Brian MingerParticipantMy personal standards are high. I demand that ITAM is approached honestly, and completely. In my current role, there is no central ITAM Program. As we begin to move toward a centralization, I intend to look to provide proper support in the integrity of the program.
June 3, 2024 at 10:58 am in reply to: Which IAITAM certification would you like to earn after CAMP? #60171Brian MingerParticipantCITAD and CMAM. I want to finish out the whole certification stack.
Brian MingerParticipantI build my document retention and workflows around the 12. I have always been able to find where my work should be filed, keep, etc., with the 12 KPA’s provided. I cannot think of any additional areas that need to be added.
June 3, 2024 at 10:55 am in reply to: Has your organization ever been audited? If yes, describe how it went. #60169Brian MingerParticipantYes, and not handled by IT but Legal. Limited IT involvement and only when asked.
Brian MingerParticipantTagging is decentralized and done by the various teams that order hardware. Limited tracking for infrastructure devices.
June 3, 2024 at 10:53 am in reply to: Discuss how much you know and understand about your organization’s finances. #60167Brian MingerParticipantIn my current organization, I am very separate from the IT and Corporate finance. I have some basic understanding but am distanced from its efforts. There is no centralized ITAM Program. We are very decentralized for all HAM and SAM efforts. ITAD is limited and, from what I have seen, it is just giving our aged and retired equipment away.
Brian MingerParticipantI would have to agree with many of those above:
Remote or hybrid work continues to be a major focus. Leadership is looking at this close now. Discussions are being had around return to office and the discussion is around who needs to come back in and how many days. They are looking at an exception process for those who live out of state. Some companies are looking at VP and Director and above being onsite more often in a week/month.
Automation and AI are a big buzz.
The mental health thing is big as well. To the point, they are bring in discussions around Mindfulness training (Buddhist centric).
