IAITAM should consider adding AI to the KPA list. Whilst this is still an evolving industry, its growth projections and influence on all of the existing 12 KPAs will be significant. As its own KPA, it would require dedicated teams, policies, procedures, and oversight that could elevate ITAM’s involvement in day-to-day operations.

There is a convergence in ITAM with FinOps and CloudOps, Automation, and now, more than ever, managing AI as an asset. The need for ITAM to evolve further, whereby it is integrated into these modern issues, is becoming paramount.
