Ann MartinParticipantI would say add documentation, yet if you really think about it, communication and education should cover documentation because it should be taught to the staff.

June 17, 2024 at 11:14 pm in reply to: How do your standards align with IAITAM’s high standards for the profession? #61015Ann MartinParticipantWe have a process; however, they have to reiterated often because if not people have a tendency to fall short on keeping up with the policy and procedures. June 17, 2024 at 10:44 pm in reply to: Has your organization ever been audited? If yes, describe how it went. #61012Ann MartinParticipantYes. Someone comes and wants to know what we have on hand and see what has been purchased by departments. They also want to know the tracking information for the items. The main thing is documentation, documentation, documentation.
Ann MartinParticipantOur Asset Tags have a number on them, they are different colors based on the organization they represent, and an example is when a computer is imaged, an asset tag number is put into the BIOS to identify the equipment to belong to the organization and is tracked by the service tag and the asset tag.
June 17, 2024 at 10:39 pm in reply to: Discuss how much you know and understand about your organization’s finances. #61010Ann MartinParticipantI understand that my organization gives a fiscal year budget for departments. The management staff of the departments are to budget what they spend and part of that is to include the replacement of equipment that needs to be replaced because of things like damage not covered by warranty, or the equipment is no longer serving the purpose as to what his needed, and I have even seen the required policies that say the equipment is to be replaced automatically because it is no longer covered und warranty.
Ann MartinParticipantAlot of working from home. Users remoting in. Users taking equipment home. Having to tag equipment and track equipment and teaching departments to track the equipment they give to their staff. Working with management in different departments to teach them what needs to be ordered for their users to work from home.
